NATG III - Day 04 - Pony using a tool

Staves count as tools, right? This is my OC, Treetops, using a magic staff from an RPG game I'm playing her in. It has the power to command vines, but it looks like this vine monster is a little too unruly. Luckily she's a good flyer!

I'm really starting to have fun with these, but I've got to start drawing earlier in the day so I'm not up until 3AM! ^..^;
Had some trouble with this one, too. A case of perspective fail I think with the staff. I also couldn't quickly find an image of a pegasus in this or a similar pose, so I popped open Zoi's pony creator and improvised with posing (Pose code: 000303096243303086270007337307356333325116263341). I had to draw the wings/mane/tail without a ref, but I think they came out mostly okay. Mane and tail could probably use a bit more work, though. I think the action lines came out okay though.
Having trouble with high-detail areas like the cutie mark and the dreamcatcher on the staff, too. Hard to get all the detail in without clobbering any lines. I think I wore out my eraser on this one. Still need decent art supplies, may do that tomorrow.
